The Gyaru Graduation

Today six people were about to graduate from their Gyaru circle and enter the real world.

Got invited by this girl Maamin from the gyaru circle Kuraha arranging the Graduation party.

Here's the six people that were going to graduate.

The gyaru fashion and lifestyle used to be something you stop with when you're 20 years old, but nowadays people do it much longer. The famous Gyaru-O Umeshan(right) is now 29 for example.

Still had extensions from the hair salon Rizel at this time. But my hair is pretty long without extensions now so Sofia helped me take them out.

The extensions after being taken out. Pretty funny that I used to have all that in my hair.

The event were at Club Flower in Roppongi. Roppongi is not exactly a place where gyaru usually hang out so we just had to follow the only ones we saw to the event.

People at the entrance doing "Ura Piisu"(backwards peace).

Such a cool audience inside waiting for Para Para-dance shows and more.

Specially this guy!! XD

How did he come up with that hairstyle? :D

One of the Gyaru-O graduating.

Para-Para dance show.

Maamin doing a Para-Para move.

Lots of people watching and taking photos.

Video of some Para-Para at the event:

Talked with this funny guy that recognized me from Club Atom.

Gyaru circle members thanking the graduates for their time in the circle.

Everybody watching videos of memories from the time that passed.

Maamin breaking down in tears.

Everybody got a booklet where you could read about the graduates.

Some last words from the graduates before they become "ShaKaiJin". When you become a "ShaKaiJin" working all day you are officially contributing to the Japanese society instead of taking from it.

the post was a little bit saddening to hear. But of course, people has to move on from their youth and be serious with the life I'm afraid

  5. Wow! I didn't know that there is so much put into such a thing.... I'm really surprised! They even had such professional looking booklets!

    Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for your blog, really!!

  10. wow, i didn't know that being part of a gyaru-sa was such a big deal! there were a lot of people at the event! looks like it was fun!

personally (being old and all... lol) i think that it's sad that they have to quit their gyaru ways to "enter the real world", why can't they remained gyaru (maybe a bit toned-down, for some...) and still work in a company? it's so dumb...

but anyways... man, some of those guys are really orange!! how do they even get that shade?! lol.

  11. SähläriSiri:

Wow, great pictures!! Thank you very much for sharing the link!!

I met that Ganguro girl Alba Rosa once in Shibuya too. Cool that they know eachother hahah! :D

  12. Arutte:

I'm not sure if they completley stop being gyaru or if they just stop taking part in their gyaru circle's activities.

Maybe they got a busy work where it's not okey to have that hairstyle, or maybe they just felt like it was time to move on from the circle. They probably continue with gyaru style in some way in their free time.

  13. So cool! The guy with pink/white hair is Hideki from Line Cross Gal Circle!

  14. awwhh I love para-para! wish I could have come to Japan ;__;

  15. awww.. good luck Hideo!
