The New Street Snap Site: TokyoFaces.com

The professional photographer Said Karlsson and me has recently started the site TokyoFaces.com

TokyoFaces.com is completley dedicated to all the cool and crazy styles you can find in the streets of Tokyo. We have been dreaming about making a site like this for years and Said's photos are amazing so I'm really excited about the result!!^^

It all started at this nice café in Shibuya where we talked about how to make this project happen. 
Said showed me a design he made for the site which I really liked and hope you will do as well. =)

Then we went "face-hunting" in Shibuya! ;)
We met this fashionable crew with Meeson and Kentakkii to the left, outside Shibuya 109.

Meeson is constantly jumping and moving around which makes it a hard to take photos. 
But who said it was going to be easy to make a street snap site!? ;D

Said taking photos of the Popteen and EGG-model Yuupin.

Yuupin was happy with the result! =)

I go up and ask the people if they want to be in photos for our Street Fashion site and then Said
takes the photos.

I already know some of the people we take photos of, but we also made some new intresting friends during the photo sessions.

We met this hilarious guy called DJ Yuunyan in Harajuku. Appearently his life revolves around being in street snaps. There are streets in Harajuku where it's always tons of photographers waiting for somebody like him to come by so they can take street snaps.

After we had photographed him the first time, he checked our site and liked it so much that he
called us up again and wanted to be photographed again.

He said that he wants to be the "King of TokyoFaces"! XD

He and his girlfriend showed us their favorite store in Harajuku called 6% DOKI DOKI.

The store is kinda hidden on one of Harajukus small backstreets, but extremley colorful just like 
DJ Yuunyan and his girlfriend! :)

like this skirt made of gloves!! :O

And this bag with a barbie doll head on it!! :O

I will of course continue with this blog, and there will be street snaps here as well but different ones than on TokyoFaces.com

Part 3/3 EGG Youth Party feat. Blog Boys and Kanako!!

In the final part of this EGG Youth Party we meet all the Blog Boys and ask Kanako if she remembers
an old friend! ;D

The gyaru boyband PlayZ had an performance.

 




One of the members in the band is Ayumu that is the most popular Gyaru-O ever. He has been on countless of EGG-covers and got his own clothing brand. Japan loves Japanese people that doesn't look Japanese. That's why so many celebrities are half Japanese I guess.

Ayumu doesn't need to sing that much, the fans are happy if he just waves to them or touch them.

Some fans with a home made Ayumu-sign. Ayumu = あゆむ in the Japanese Hiragana-alphabet.

  

Me and Ayumu at Men's EGG Night. Even though he's probably the most famous person in Shibuya he's very nice and humble so I really respect him for that!

This funny guy wanted us to buy the Blog Boys calender with pictures of the Blog Boys in underwear which we weren't really intrested in.XD
But then he said that if we buy it we get to meet all the Blog Boys and take pictures with them.

We said that if we get to meet Kanako as well we will buy it.
He was hesitating for a little bit but then he said "Deal!!" and started calling all the models. XD

First he calls up Naokyun that comes running into the room only some seconds later looking confused since the regular signing of the calenders hasn't started yet.

 

And then Hayato!

A Yuunyan in pink Kimono got an "Absolut Svensk"-shirt to wear at special occiasions! ;)
Absolut Svensk = 100% Swedish

More models came up to sign calenders.

Together with Takkezou, Minorun, Ryouichi and Chiibou.

I asked Takkezou if he remembered when he and his girlfriend met me and these three French friends in Shibuya, which you can read about here. He did and said -"Yeah it was four of you!"

That time we talked about that gyaru-culture is becoming popular all over the world recently, so I asked if he had seen the article about Finnish gyaru in EGG. He smiled and said he had read it. After that he said: -"We need more!"

Shouya made a short appearence and got really happy for getting a souvenire shirt. To much flash in this picture, but I like his purple fleece shirt!

Kanako was going to come meet us after she finished dancing and shaking peoples hands like
in this video: 
 

Kanako was voted the most popular female EGG-model of 2010.

Then she came and signed our calender.

The model and Mayhem-staff Ryoma in the middle of this picture had told me that he used to be in the same gyaru-circle as Romihi and Kanako.

Ryoma once gave me one of his staff-cards so I showed it to Kanako and asked if she remember him but she didn't seem very sure.

Part 2/3 EGG Youth Party feat. Blog Boys and Kanako!!

Now we're about to find out how deep the rabbit hole is, and do they like salty licorice down there!? ;D

When we came in to Atom for the EGG Youth Party it was a lot of people there waiting for the Fashion Show and performance by the band PlayZ to start, but it was going to get more crowded...

Met Naokyuns friend Akipuu in the crowd. He thought he looked fat on this photo for some reason.

Me and Engla was curious what kind of style this girl had, and asked if it was some kind of CosPlay or mix between styles. She said it was just her own original style.

She must have put a lot of effort in her unique look and were really nice.

 




































So of course she got some candy!! And this candy "Salta katter" by Fazer is Finnish and not Swedish by the way, as a reader commented.
Kexchoklad is still Swedish though, and maybe Malaco too..?

Right before the fashion show with the Blog Boys were about to start it was so crowded that they had to ask everybody to take some steps back to give space for the models.

The Youth Blog Boys from left to right:
Back row: Minorun, Zukey, Ryouichi, Takkezou
Front row: Hayato, Chiibo, Naokyun, Yuunyan

First out was Minorun representing the brand Daisy.

And then Hayato, here in the CO&LU-newspaper in the right upper corner.

Then it was time for Kanya to the left, here together with Kanako, to show off some fashion. She's not one of the Blog Boys, so I don't really know why she came up but fun with some variation.

Followed by Chiibo to the right. Did anybody notice that Kanako is in pretty much every single EGG-picture by the way!? XD

And then Yuuri, which we gave scandinavian candy to before the party as you can read in Part 1 here.
Hahah I love how the girl to the left in this pictures seems to wonder what's going on!^^

And then it was time for Naokyun.

 




































And Takkezou to the left, here together with Tanaka Daichi on the Shibuya 109-2 entrance poster.

And last up was Ryouichi, second from left, that we also met earlier today.

Everybody came out to thank the audience and received gifts from fans.

Then Odacchi came up and asked if I remembered him from the Double Heart party.

Tanaka Daichi came up on stage to host the EGG Youth Super Model Contest for unknown talents, and the audience went crazy.

Third one. Tanaka Daichi joked about how this guy talked and hold the mic, and said he was already a professional as you can see in this video:

Tanaka Daichi took a photo with the audience for EGG.

Takkezou, Yunkoro and some people from the audience joined.

Yunkoro receives a fan letter while Takkezou and Tanaka Daichi are talking.

Loved the caps that two girl in the front had!^^

We gave some salty licorice to these guys haha...
As you might know Japanese people are usually really polite but appearently they can't deal with salty licorice!! XD

The first guy that tasted said it was horrible and directly spitted it out.
The next one said it wasn't that bad, then he said it was a bit salty, and some seconds later he ran for the toilet to spit it out... :D 

I think I took this just to try the flash, but turns out the the guy in leopard jacket and leopard pants had shoes with leopard laces under his purple laces!!^^
That's pretty hard core. :P

In Part 3 of "EGG Youth Party feat. Blog Boys and Kanako!!" we meet all the Blog Boys plus Kanako, and the Kigurumis on the first picture goes crazy! =)
